Just from a personal standpoint, Canoe is one of our favourite restaurants to dine at. The exquisite Canadian-esque menu along with stunning views of downtown Toronto, this combination also makes for a wonderful space for intimate wedding or event. Since Kelly and Jeff are going to throw a destination wedding, they decided to have a smaller affair to include a lot of their family and friends — notably their grandparents — who would otherwise be unable to attend their special day abroad.
The day’s tasks were unusual for us but we were up for a challenge because Kelly and Jeff are cousins of a good friend and past client of ours! We had a super early set up at Canoe while Kelly and Jeff simultaneously had their family formals taken in another space. We solicited the help of our talented friend and photographer, Jen Xu.
Once their formals were finished we opened the Portraits On White up for a quick “VIP” session which included all of the couple’s close family and friends including their grandparents. We shut down service while the immediate family enjoyed a wonderful meal at Canoe and rejoined the party once dinner ended and guests started to arrive for the ceremony.
There ceremony was intimate, short but certainly sweet! And once it was over, the dance floor opened and we resumed our usual service for all of Kelly and Jeff’s extended family and friends. What can we say? It was such a pleasure to be involved in all aspects of their wedding day.
