Kiera and Lino’s special day brought us back to a gorgeous venue up north in Kleinburg — the famous Doctor’s House. We first came here to photograph a wedding a couple years back. With greenery all around and this intimate, almost quaint-feeling building, we love how it’s only about an hour away from the city.
Our set up space for this particular session was right inside the dining area. We’ve done this many times before and it’s kind of a catch-22. On one hand, it’s so amazing to be right in the middle of the action where everyone is. After all, sometimes we are hidden in some remote corner with no one visiting us 🙁 However, these are scenarios we need to be ultra-sensitive to how we are setting up and not to be a distraction while guests are enjoying their dinner or engaging in a speech. For these occassions, we go into “stealth mode”, trying to set up as quietly and inconspicuously as possible. We did this successfully and were a hit at their wedding while also devouring some delicious cupcakes and late night sliders — woohoo.
